Woman airlifted in Lake George water rescue

LAKE GEORGE, N.Y. (NEWS10) — Emergency personnel conducted a water rescue on Lake George on July 13, the Warren County Sheriff’s Office announced Wednesday. The operation took place just before 5 p.m. near the Calves Pen area.

Agents of the Sheriff’s Office’s Marine Patrol and the Lake George Park Commission responding to the scene located an injured 18-year-old from Massachusetts who had fallen from the nearby rocks. Multiple bystanders had reportedly jumped in the water after the woman and kept her afloat until emergency responders arrived.

Marine Patrol and Park Commission members were able to safely remove the woman from the water, taking her to Green Island for assessment before she was brought to Albany Medical Center via LifeNet helicopter for further treatment. The Bolton Fire Department and Bolton EMS assisted the Sheriff’s Office with the rescue.
