Webster University aids students displaced by apartment fire

WEBSTER GROVES, mo. — A fire at River Crest Apartments earlier this week caused the displacement of more than a dozen Webster University students. The fire broke out Monday night, affecting around 10 units with heavy smoke and water damage. Investigators believe the fire started in the basement, but the cause is still under review.

Webster University is stepping in to support affected students. The school has launched a fundraiser and is organizing a clothing and essentials drive to help those who lost everything.

The collection drive will take place Monday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at West Hall, located at 240 Edgar Road. For more information on needed items or to make a donation, visit the Student Emergency Fund.
