AURORA, Colo. (KDVR) — A Super Bowl superstar is sharing in the Broncos’ excitement in Denver.
Emmanuel Sanders stopped by an Aurora cell phone store to help promote Fanfest at Empower Field. Fans lined up at a Verizon store in Aurora to get pictures taken and autographs signed by the former wide receiver.
Included in that line were 10-year-old Christian Duran and his dad Chris.
“Super cool just getting to meet him in person,” said Christian.
It was a moment his dad had been waiting for.
“I’ve been dealing with him since he went to the Super Bowl,” said Chris “It’s collecting dust right now.”
He referring to a photo he drew of Sanders with pastels.
Fans also learned of a new way to enjoy and celebrate the Super Bowl.
“Fans are going to get to come and watch the game with me at Broncos stadium so that’s going to be fun,” said Sanders. “Enjoy the Super Bowl watch it on a Jumbotron in a suite. Hopefully, it’s a good game. Hopefully, the Broncos are in there; how cool would that be? Let’s make that happen.”
Festivities kick off Feb. 9 at 2:30 p.m. Former Broncos wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders will be hosting the experience. He’ll be joined by other NFL legends, Miles the mascot and the team’s cheerleaders.
“There’s going to be food music, and a lot for everyone to do,” said Liz Gelardi with Verizon.
The excitement of the big game will be brought to 30 NFL cities across the country.
“If I wasn’t an NFL player I would definitely want to bring my son,” said Sanders. “He loves football. What better way than to watch it with an NFL player who won the Super Bowl? I think it’s a genius idea. I’m looking forward to it. It’s going to be fun.”
“Just hanging out with Emmanuel at the Super Bowl fest: That’s cool. Just to bring that to Denver to experience that,” Chris said. “Like he said, he’s going to have his son and I’ll be honored to take my son.”
The event is free to Verizon customers with tickets available on a first come first serve basis. You can find out more by visiting VerizonFanFest.com.
