Frontier flight arriving at DIA evacuated for 'unfounded' threat: Officials

DENVER (KDVR) — Denver police on Monday afternoon confirmed passengers on a flight arriving at Denver International Airport were evacuated due to a threat that “appears to be unfounded at this time.”

A DIA spokesperson said, “A threat was reported,” and that airport staff, Denver police and the FBI responded to the plane, which the spokesperson identified as a Frontier Airlines flight. The airport spokesperson said passengers were safely deplaned.

Police did not release many details, saying the Federal Bureau of Investigation is leading the investigation, but a police spokesperson told FOX31 the plane was cleared after the threat did not appear legitimate.

The police spokesperson said DPD is assisting with getting passengers to the terminal and reuniting them with their belongings.

FOX31 has reached out to the FBI for more information.
