A Virginia woman has been arrested in connection with the hit-and-run death of Sara Burack, a prominent Hamptons real estate agent and cast member of Netflix’s Million Dollar Beach House. The arrest follows a two-day manhunt led by the Southampton Town Police.
Amanda Kempton, 32, of Reston, Virginia, is charged with leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death, a Class D felony punishable by up to 7 years in prison.
The fatal crash occurred around 2:45 a.m. on June 19. Burack, 40, was found unconscious and critically injured near Montauk Highway in Hampton Bays. She had suffered traumatic head injuries, internal damage, and multiple fractures. Despite initial efforts to save her, she later died at Stony Brook University Hospital .
Burack was well known in the luxury real estate market and had a strong following on Instagram and OnlyFans. She worked for Nest Seekers International and was a staple in the Hamptons scene.
According to police, Kempton allegedly struck Burack while driving and fled the scene. Her vehicle was later located through a combination of witness reports, license plate cameras, and forensic evidence. She was taken into custody without incident and is scheduled to be arraigned this week.
