DENVER (KDVR) — A new accelerated training program for Colorado residents gives people the opportunity to get jobs in the clean energy sector, free of charge.
Goodwill of Colorado announced in a press release, on Tuesday, the launch of its new Clean Tech Accelerator training program, created for the need of industry workers that maintain and repair electric vehicle charging stations and other clean energy equipment.
The 4-week paid program is designed to give participants the opportunity to gain hands-on experience, receive industry-approved certifications and job placement assistance.
“Programs like the Clean Tech Accelerator reflect our mission in action, meeting people where they are and helping them build better futures. By bridging workforce development with environmental impact, we’re not only opening doors for individuals but also helping power Colorado’s green economy in a way that is inclusive, forward-thinking and community driven,” stated Karla Grazier, president and chief executive officer of Goodwill of Colorado.
The Clean Jobs Colorado 2024 report, stated that the state added 3,298 new jobs within the clean energy sector for the previous year, which was “at a much faster rate than the state’s overall employment.”
Graduates will have earned credentials including: OSHA-10, CPR AND EVSE technician from ChargerHelp! and then receive job placement assistance for up to one-year after graduating the program.
Goodwill of Colorado states that this is the first initiative of the Clean Tech Accelerator program, expecting to later include HVAC and solar panel industry training programs.
