Buffy Is Still Slaying It In A New Podcast With Juliet Landau

Best known for her role as Drusilla on Buffy the Vampire Slayer and its spinoff show Angel,  Juliet Landau  is launching RE-VAMPED today, the first Buffy podcast hosted by a cast member since the popular TV series starring Sarah Michelle Gellar premiered almost 30 years ago.

Combining nostalgia and new content, RE-VAMPED is co-hosted by Landau’s chaotic vampire alter ego, Scooby Dru, Sire Rebecca, and Watcher Dev. The podcast brings humor, insight, and some emotion to the stories and themes that made Buffy legendary.

The podcast includes a sequential rewatch, dives into untold stories from behind the scenes, explores how Buffy’s themes continue to resonate today for a new generation, and engages fans through creative features like imagined missing scenes and fan-driven trivia battles.

Buffy fans can expect a lot of fun and to be surprised,” Landau, the daughter of Hollywood acting legends Martin Landau and Barbara Bain, best known for her role in the original Mission Impossible TV series that launched the Tom Cruise franchise.

“On Buffy, her posse was called the Scooby Gang. My character Drusilla was also known as Dru. My RE-VAMPED co-hosts include Scooby Dru with her extreme POV and hijinks, Sire Rebecca and Watcher Dev. The podcast is rife with never-heard-before behind-the-scenes tales, the definitive in-depth interviews with cast and crew, sequential rewatches, what’s new in the Buffy-verse, the ultimate fan interactions, and showcasing new content with the beloved characters.”

So, what’s the secret behind the enduring TV show inspired by the 1992 film starring Kristy Swanson, the late Paul Reubens, and Donald Sutherland?

“I think Buffy is even more popular than when it was on the air because of the universal themes that resonate,” says Landau. “On the podcast, we delve into these themes and how they relate to our lives. Filled with belly laughs and poignant emotion, listeners rollick, probe and reflect. RE-VAMPED With Juliet Landau takes the idea of the traditional podcast and evolves it. It’s not only like hanging out with your best friends, but I’m producing what people think of for a weekly TV show or radio show. My team and I are doing this within the podcast genre. “
