TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — A collaboration decades in the making, Grammy-award winning rapper Doechii joined “Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” alums Will Smith and Tatyana Ali to recreate a viral TikTok trend.
The trend uses her song “Anxiety” and spoofs a scene from “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” where Smith’s character sneaks up on Ali’s, who’s dancing with her headphones on, and starts to mimic her.
The trend blew up on TikTok this week, and the song garnered 1 million uses on the app.
Smith reposted the original scene on his TikTok account last week, tagging his former costar and sharing his appreciation for the trend. The post was flooded with comments asking him to recreate the iconic scene, a suggestion he happily accepted.
“Waited 35 years for this dance to trend,” Smith wrote in the caption.
The video with the three stars, posted earlier today, has already gotten millions of likes and thousands of comments.
The song “Anxiety” first premiered on Doechii’s YouTube channel over five years ago but wasn’t put on streaming services. After a snippet went viral, Doechii responded to calls from fans for an official version and released the song on Spotify earlier this month.
The Tampa-born rapper was launched into national stardom last month after winning her first Grammy. Her album “Alligator Bites Never Heal” was awarded Best Rap Album.
