24 displaced from homes in Aurora after 2-alarm fire in apartment building

DENVER (KDVR) — Aurora firefighters responded to a two-alarm fire Friday night in a three-story apartment building.

The structure fire was reported at 1400 N. Kingston St., which is a block south of East Colfax Avenue. A public information officer told FOX31’s Nate Belt that the fire started in a basement unit of the apartment building.

The fire department reported the fire was under control as of about 10 p.m. The blaze was first reported at about 9:46 p.m. on X.

The American Red Cross said it was responding as well to help residents who were displaced by the fire. Belt learned that 24 residents were displaced from their homes due to the blaze, including five children. No one had to be transported to a hospital for injuries.
